When Surveyors Ask You To Pay Them

Let’s face it. It is not uncommon to hear complaints that the economy is just not as good as it used to be. Aside from their day jobs that barely cover the essentials, the better part of the populace normally had to scrimp and work several odd jobs to do the trick. It is thus a blessing, in more ways than one, if one can find a job where simple clicks of a button, sitting on your favorite chair at home, drinking coffee perhaps, can potentially earn you something. This is the focal selling point of taking paid surveys.

And as is previously pointed out, it can be a win-win situation. Cash surveys pay you for opinions which, for one, do not cost you anything. Other than that, once obtained in massive quantities, these data will be used to improve on things. Marketing, after all, is more than perceptions; it’s touching base with the consumer and making that contact.

This inviting appeal of cash surveys, however, have similarly drawn the attention of opportunists who always find ways to double-cross people. The general rule of thumb is, legitimate surveys are usually unpaid without any incentive. The small remuneration one can get for taking surveys is just an added bonus.

Now if you ever encounter surveys where the respondents must shell out something or purchase a product to join a panel, it is almost always a scam. These sites often promise reimbursement after the conduct of the experiment or survey. These sites usually do a Houdini right after that before making true of their promise and paying the participants. If a survey requires your credit card information, you know what to do.

While you may laugh at the inanity of the situation now, bear in mind that there were people who have been fooled by this modus operandi. Sometimes, a promise of small fortune is enough to lure one away from legitimate paid surveys and on to scams perpetrating this trend.
